Introduction

My name is Adam Gerken, and I’m a student at the University of Colorado Denver. In the coming weeks, I will be posting journals about my experiences in Ireland for the “Ireland in Context” University Honors and Leadership class I am taking this May. Every day for the three weeks I take the class, I will post a journal detailing my experiences and my reflections on these experiences. Of course, I will add photos and videos when they are relevant to the subject at hand. I’m a Political Science Major, so I am looking forward to experiencing the political aspects of Ireland up close and personal. Because of this, many of my posts will be focusing on the political side of Ireland, though I will talk about other subjects as well. I look forward to sharing my experiences and learning from the experiences of my classmates this Maymester.
